India and Pakistan are set to clash for the second time in the Asia Cup on Sunday at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Their first clash was a Group A game and despite it being washed out in Pallekele, both teams managed to sneak into the Super Four with victories over Nepal, who were the third team in the group.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are the other two teams in the Super Four where each team plays against the other once with the top two reaching the final.
Pakistan defeated Bangladesh in their Super Four opener and Sri Lanka also registered a victory over the Bangla Tigers, who are now at the bottom of the points table. Both Pakistan and Sri Lanka have two points each with Men in Green leading due to a superior net run rate.
India start their Super Four campaign against Pakistan and will hope for a full two points. However, the weather forecast for Sunday in Colombo is not good.

There’s a 79% chance of rain in Colombo on Sunday and the forecast becomes much worse as the day progresses. In fact, there’s a prediction of a thunderstorm after 5 PM IST. The match starts at 3 PM IST. The chances of rain also rise to 90% at night on Sunday.
As per weather.com, the humidity level is expected to be around 80-90% and the temperature will hover around 25 degrees Celsius.
What happens if the match gets washed out?
India vs Pakistan Super Four game is the only Super Four match in Asia Cup 2023 to have a reserve day. There has been a lot of controversy around the decision but even if the game gets washed out on Sunday, it can be played on Monday (11 September).
The match on Monday would pick up from where the teams leave things on Sunday.

Unfortunately, the weather forecast for Monday is also cloudy with thunderstorms. The chances of rain are as high as 99% and the probability of thunderstorms is 59%.
Pakistan already have two points and will move to three if the game gets washed out, while India will get one point.
In such a scenario both Pakistan and India will only be able to reach a maximum of five points from three matches while Sri Lanka will can accumulate six points.
However, the Lankans can only reach six points if they defeat both India and Pakistan which means despite a possible washout in the India vs Pakistan game, both teams will still have a good chance of making the final.
Bangladesh meanwhile are on the brink of elimination after two defeats in the Super Four.
