Pledging leads to decline in firm value: Study
When promoters of family-owned firms pledge their shares to raise capital frequently, it often leads to a decline in the firm’s value and underinvestment in innovation as well as exposing them to high risk of crash. This has been revealed by an Indian School of Business (ISB) study.
