Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen was brutally trolled by Wasim Jaffer after the former’s prediction of England’s score in the ongoing first Test against India went completely wrong. Soon after England won the toss and opted to bat  in Hyderabad on Thursday, Pietersen, with a subtle reference to Bazball, posted on X, saying “England bat. 450/9 declared today?” . At that time, while Pietersen seemed hopeful of England going all aggressive, England however, were restricted to 125/5 at one stage, before being bundled out for 246.

Pietersen then was seemingly frustrated with the visitors’ approaching, saying: “Bloody hell!!!! Might be a two day game! #INDvsENG”.

Wasim Jaffer was quick to notice Pietersen’s posts and shared a funny meme, which implied that things could change in a very short time. “@DineshKarthik will translate this one for you @KP24 #INDvENG,” posted Jaffer.

Spinners Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel shared eight wickets between them and Jasprit Bumrah picked two as England were dismissed for 246 in their first innings. Ben Stokes (70) led from the front with a valiant fifty combined by knocks from Jonny Bairstow (37) and Ben Duckrett (35) but most of the other batters failed to convert starts.

At the time of writing this report, India were 73/0 after 11 overs with Rohit Sharma (23*) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (47*) unbeaten.
