The ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year for 2023 was announced on Tuesday by ICC and it had been dominated by Team Indian players. Six Indian players who were part of the side that reached the ODI World Cup 2023 final were included in the XI. India captain Rohit Sharma has been named the captain of the side and Shubman Gill from Men in Blue has been picked as his opening partner.

Other Indians to feature in the XI are Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav.

The World Cup-winning players in the XI are Travis Head, who led Australia to the title with a century in the final against India at Ahmedabad, and leg-spinner Adam Zampa.

Daryl Mitchell from New Zealand finds a place in the middle-order followed by two South Africans – wicket-keeper Heinrich Klaasen and all-rounder Marco Jansen.
