‘When are you getting married’: Mohammad Rizwan stumps Babar Azam on social media
Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam hosted a ‘Space’ session on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, where he interacted with his fans and even responded to some questions. In this session, Babar had a special guest, his Pakistan teammate Mohammad Rizwan, who playfully surprised the star batter with a question about his marriage.
Rizwan humorously asked, “Jaanab, aap ki shaadi kab hai? (When are you getting married)”. Babar, responded in a jovial manner, saying, “Murshid, aapko main akele mein samjhata hoon. (Mentor, I will explain this to you privately)”.

During the interaction, Babar also shared one of the most emotional moments during his career. He recalled the defeat at the hands of Zimbabwe in the 2022 T20 World Cup and called it heart-breaking.
“There have been many emotional moments. When I made my debut was one of them, while becoming captain was an emotional moment too. But, the loss against Zimbabwe in the World Cup was heartbreaking,” Babar recalled.
Babar also stated that he wants to win a World Cup for Pakistan and wants to be part of every upcoming World Cup and help his nation lift the trophy.
After a disappointing ODI World Cup campaign in India last year, Babar was removed as Pakistan’s captain. Shan Masood was given the mantle of the Test side, while Shaheen Afridi was appointed captain of the T20I team
After their tour to Australia and New Zealand, both Babar and Rizwan are currently featuring in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) where they are playing for Rangpur Riders and Comilla Victorians, respectively.
Across all three formats of the game, Babar led Pakistan in 133 matches. He won 78 matches and conceded defeat 43 times. He was involved in one tie and four draws.
The talismanic Pakistan batter has not had a very good Test series against Australia where he could score 126 runs at an average of 21. He did regain his form in the T20I series against New Zealand, even as Pakistan lost the series 4-1.
He has been in impressive form for Rangpur Riders in the ongoing edition of the BPL, accumulating 157 runs from four matches at an average of 52.33.
