WB: Patient turned away, dies; hospital fined Rs 20L
The state health commission has asked a women and child care hospital to pay a compensation of Rs 20 lakh to the family of a young, expecting doctor whose husband had complained that the hospital had refused admission to the 32-year-old old, despite her critical condition. Shardha Buthra, the woman, died in another hospital’s emergency unit.
