HC judge recuses from Nandi case, fines CM Rs 5L

Calcutta High Court judge Kausik Chanda on Wednesday recused himself from hearing Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s petition on BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari’s Nandigram poll victory but also fined her Rs 5 lakh to “firmly repulse” the “calculated psychological offensives and vilification adopted to seek recusal”.
