According to the most rigorous history, the trade of the lutery appears vigorously and brilliantly in Cremona, Italy, at the hands of Masters such as Nicolò Amati, Antonio Stradivarius and Andrea Guarnerius, between the 17th and 18th centuries; although there are records of lyres and harps almost three thousand years before Jesus Christ. The Ravanatta, for example, an Asian bowed string instrument, dates between three thousand and five thousand years before Jesus Christ.
Fortunately, we are facing one of the masteries that has best known how to preserve its talent and sensitivity in the construction of unique pieces for music, and we want to point out here one of the jewels in Johnny Depp’s guitar collection, the Paoletti – Il Giglio – Leonardo 500. Its luthiers wanted to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death with this piece, using an unusual chestnut wood found in the Vinci area, fact that sparked a sensible idea in Mr. Paoletti, from Paoletti Guitars Company. You can read here about this extraordinary inspiration.
