Tax dues: 49k properties in Bengaluru attached, over 4k sealed till Sept 1
BBMP is actively recovering property tax arrears in Bengaluru, attaching 49,487 properties and sealing 4,586 non-residential ones till September 1. With over 2.6 lakh defaulters owing Rs 474 crore, Rs 273 crore has been collected so far this financial year. Newly notified rules empower BBMP to attach properties and bank accounts to facilitate recovery.
