The city police took AIADMK legislators including former chief minister O Panneerselvam into preventive custody on Tuesday after they blocked road in front of Kalaivanar Arangam, where the assembly session is being held, protesting against the government’s decision to scrap Dr J Jayalalithaa University and merge it with Annamalai University.
