Liquor to be cheaper by 20% from next week in WB

Come November 16 and the tipplers in the state may have something to cheer about. The prices of India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) are likely to drop by 20% across the board while the prices of beer may change marginally. The excise department would announce a new duty structure for IMFL and beer on Tuesday, when top excise officials will meet liquor retailers to discuss a new distribution structure. However, some retailers said that it may take two more days to get stocks at new prices.
