The Kolkata Knight Riders narrowly missed out on a playoff berth, finishing at the fifth position in IPL 2020. In IPL 2021, they are far behind to make it to playoffs. Chances are slim but still exist. It would be interesting to see how Eoin Morgan inspired his troops to make the difficult task a possibility.
With five losses and two wins, KKR have to win at least six games out of their remaining seven to stay in hunt for the playoffs.
All eyes will be on Shubman Gill who is returning to the cricket pitch after getting injured during a training session in England. He missed out on the England Tests and would be hungry for runs in the second half of the season. Dinesh Karthik too had a long time away from the sport, doing commentary job in England for good four months. This time he would want the bat do the talking.
Placed at seventh position on the points table, KKR have a huge job at hand. No Pat Cummins this time around will make the job even harder.

The IPL final will be played on 15 October at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. The playoffs will also be played at Dubai and Sharjah - Qualifier 1 in Dubai on 10 October, Eliminator in Sharjah on 11 October and Qualifier 2 also in Sharjah on 13 October.
