Delhi Capitals (DC), the finalists from IPL 2020, will be looking to go one step ahead in IPL 2021Â to clinch their maiden trophy as the season resumes after a long break due to spread of coronavirus in the first phase of the season.
Last year, the side led by Shreyas Iyer performed exceptionally well under the watchful eyes of head coach Ricky Ponting.
This year with Iyer getting injured, Rishabh Pant became incharge and he has done well with DC winning six out of the eight games they played in the first half of the fourteenth season.
The league has moved out of India to UAE and it will be interesting to see how DC fare there. Last year, in UAE, they reached the final of the tournament, losing to Mumbai Indians and Ponting's boys will be looking to go one step further this time to clinch the title.

The IPL final will be played on 15 October at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. The playoffs will also be played at Dubai and Sharjah - Qualifier 1 in Dubai on 10 October, Eliminator in Sharjah on 11 October and Qualifier 2 also in Sharjah on 13 October.
