Before the India vs England third Test gets underway, we take a look at how the weather will behave on the five days of the match in Rajkot and how the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium could behave.
Rajkot Weather Forecast
Good news is that rain is not expected to play a part in the match at Rajkot. As per AccuWeather, the chances of precipitation is 0% on all days from 15 to 19 February. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 36 degree Celsius to lowest being around 14.
Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium Pitch Report
India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who hails from Rajkot has shared that the wicket is expected to be batting friendly at the start, but should offer turn with time and the pitch should break as well.
“Here the wicket is flat and hard, but depends on what they have prepared. Sometimes you get 37 wickets in three matches (days), but this wicket looks good,” Jadeja said on the eve of the pitch. “Here the wicket behaves differently in every game. Sometimes it stays flat, sometimes it turns, sometimes it plays well for two days and then turns. I believe it will play well first and then slowly it will break and the ball will turn.”
England adding two pacers to their playing XI, for the first time in this series, indicates that they don’t expect the pitch to be as slow as it was in Hyderabad or Visakhapatnam. Which means there will be runs on offer and we could see some reverse swing from the pacers.
