Goa put on red alert, may see extremely heavy rainfall today

PANAJI: The IMD has issued a red alert over Goa for Friday, forecasting extremely heavy rainfall exceeding 204.5mm in 24 hours at isolated places, even as the first seven days of July produced 487.8mm of average rainfall, 99.6% more than the normal level for this period (244.4mm).
