Goa: ‘Exploiting wild mushrooms could start a pandemic’
The overexploitation of the ecologically important wild mushrooms of Goa, the ‘roen alami’, may result in the “eruption or release of quarantined new forest diseases” like the Kyasanur Forest disease (KFD) virus while we are still battling the Covid-19 pandemic, the Goa State Biodiversity Board (GSBB) said.
