50% semi-wholesale shops may operate at Koyambedu
About 50% of semiwholesale shops at the Koyambedu Wholesale Market Complex (KWMC) are likely to be allowed to operate. The development comes a day after the government announced that retail outlets of fruit and vegetable will be prohibited at Koyambedu as part of new measures to check the second surge of Covid-19 cases. This meant only 200 wholesale shops out of 1960 outlets in the vegetable section could alone function.
