WB govt shelves proposal for Rs 8 minimum bus fare
The proposal to hike bus fares by one rupee for every stage, which will make the minimum bus fare Rs 8 for the first three kilometres, has been shelved by the Bengal government for now, a senior official said on Sunday. The Bengal government is reluctant to burden people already reeling under the pandemic, the official added.
