WB govt prioritises 2nd-dose jabs to clear rising backlog

The state government has decided to prioritise second-dose vaccine recipients in order to tackle the problem of a rapidly rising number of second-dose requirements in the midst of a vaccine shortage. In the districts, 50% of the vaccine stocks would be set aside for second-dose recipients; in Kolkata, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) will use all of its vaccine stocks for just second-dose inoculations at its clinics on Wednesday and Thursday.
