Virus fear prompts reduced dope tests in IPL

The 14th edition of the IPL will see a steep cut in the number of samples collected from cricketers by the National Anti-Doping Agency (Nada). From the 50-plus sampling of cricketers during the previous version of the T20 league in the UAE, the country’s anti-doping watchdog has decided to test around 30-odd Indian and international players due to the surge in Covid-19 cases. All these cricketers will be from Nada and ICC’s registered testing pool (RTP).
