Trial of 3rd vax nears end in Kol; results encouraging
A trial for an Indian version of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine — which is nearing completion at Peerless Hospital — has found “good immunogenic qualities that may outstrip those of other vaccines now being used.” Researchers at Peerless hope to have all the data on the vaccine prepared by August 10. It should be ready for a commercial roll-out in September-October, provided that all the mandatory clearances are secured, said a representative of the Hyderabad-based Hetero Group that will manufacture the vaccine and has commissioned trials across the country, including at Peerless in Kolkata.
