New record: 2.7k caught sans ticket at Andheri station
Three days after it made a record collection of Rs 4.22 lakh in fines in one day from 1,647 ticketless travellers at Dadar station, the Western Railway (WR) on Tuesday caught 2,693 such commuters during a 'fortress check' at Andheri station and raked in Rs 7.14 lakh. The single-day collection is the highest on the Indian Railways network.
