Most of our 'civilised' practices were handed down to us by Harappans, say experts

What we consider to be civilised practices like cooking in tandoors, ladies braiding their hair, men trimming their beards and wearing beautifully decorated shawls, were in fact handed down to us by our ancestors, who lived in Harappa 5000 years ago, said Dr Vasant Shinde, former vice-chancellor of the Deccan College Post-Graduate & Research Institute (Deemed University) in Pune.
