Kerala: Cops in a bind over detention centre for foreign nationals
The police have landed in a catch-22 situation over the first detention centre for foreign nationals in state, set up on the basis of the instructions of the high court. Social justice department (SJD), which is responsible for bearing its expenses as per the government order, is yet to provide funds, leaving an embarrassed police to utilize their mess fund (meant for the welfare of policemen) to run the centre in Thrissur.
