Johnny to play “Satan” in Terry Gilliam movie
Forbes confirms, Johnny Depp is teaming up with Terry Gilliam once again for a new comedy film titled “The Carnival at the End of Days“, which also stars Jeff Bridges, Adam Driver, and Jason Momoa. In an interview with the French publication Premiere, Gilliam, who previously worked with Depp on Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, revealed that the film will feature Bridges as God and Depp as Satan in a role-reversal scenario. According to Gilliam, in the film, God decides to destroy humanity, and the only one trying to save us is Satan because he needs people in hell to have a job for eternity. The director, who was a member of Monty Python, is aiming to start production in January 2025. While Gilliam did not disclose the roles of Adam Driver and Jason Momoa, he shared more details about Bridges’ character. In The Carnival at the End of Days, God is portrayed as nature that can communicate with humans.
