He was at his agile best when he grabbed a sharp catch at first slip to dismiss Ollie Pope off Ravichandran Ashwin’s bowling on the fourth day. Ashwin, after going wicketless in the first innings, picked up his second scalp of the contest when he got the ball to bounce extra and get Pope’s edge as the batter attempted a cut shot.
Rohit, initially moving to his right for a better view, was quick to adjust and extended his hands to complete a brilliant catch. The reaction time for this sensational grab for a mere 0.45 second. This wasn’t the first time Rohit showcased his fielding prowess, having taken a sharp, low catch to dismiss Ollie Pope in the first match in Hyderabad.

The Indian team came on the fourth morning as favorites to win the match, but England’s batting prowess kept them chipping away at the target. Zak Crawley and Rehan Ahmed started well for the visitors, but India kept taking wickets to stay in control. Ashwin, after picking up Pope, sent back Joe Root. Root, impacted by a finger injury, played a shot per ball, spooning a catch to Axar Patel at backward point.
Bumrah and Ashwin took three wickets each as India defeated England by 106 runs in Vizag on Monday. England where dismissed for 292 while looking to chase down 399. The five-match Test series is now level 1-1 with the third Test to be played in Rajkot from 15 February.
