Goa: Deforestation intensified floods in Bicholim, Sattari, say experts
For the third time in the past two decades, large parts of Bicholim and Sattari talukas were submerged in water following intense rainfall. Environmentalists said that failure to protect tree cover in the watershed areas of the tributaries of the Mandovi and Tillari rivers has exposed Bicholim and Sattari to flooding during monsoons.
