Goa: 100-million-year-old Jurassic forests thrive in Sanguem

In Talauli, Bhati, inside the Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary, there stand patches of relic forests with the unique Myristica swamp ecosystem, which are over 100 million years old. These swamp forests are endemic to the Western Ghats and a smaller distribution exists in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
