Erdogan says Hamas is not a terrorist outfit, cancels Israel trip
Turkish President Erdogan stated that Hamas is a liberation group fighting to protect Palestinian lands, not a terrorist organization. Turkey does not consider Hamas a terrorist group and has criticized Israel's actions in Gaza. Erdogan called for an immediate ceasefire, the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and for Muslim countries to work together to stop the violence. Israel rejected Erdogan's description of Hamas, and Italian Deputy Prime Minister Salvini called his comments "grave and disgusting."
