Covid-19: Active cases halve but deaths and admissions soar in Kerala

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the lockdown in the state has given the desired result as the cases have started coming down. However, there is an increase in deaths and hospital admissions, he noted. While only 9% of those requiring treatment were admitted to various hospitals ten days ago, the share has increased to 14% now, the CM said. It is understood that at least two-three weeks will be needed to bring down the current admission rate.
