Chennai rain: Holidays announced for schools, colleges in 4 dists

Schools and colleges in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpet districts will remain closed on Monday and Tuesday due to heavy rain, Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin said on Sunday. He appealed to people to put their travel plans on hold for three days as more rainfall was forecast in the coming days. Stalin added that all officials were on 24 hours alert.
