'Bohut mubaaraq baat': Shahid Afridi congratulates Shoaib Malik on marriage with Sana Javed
Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik got married for the third time to Pakistani actor Sana Javed, prompting a mixed response on social media. Shoaib, who got separated from Sania Mirza, received several reactions from the public. Malik had married Mirza in 2010. Mirza’s father disclosed that she had initiated a ‘khula’ (divorce initiated by the wife) and wished Malik well in his life. Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi recently spoke about Malik’s high-profile wedding.
Afridi said, “Shoaib Malik ko bohut bohut mubaraq baat. Allah usi isi life partner ke saath saari zindagi khush rakhe, [Many congratulations to Shoaib Malik. I hope god keeps him happy with this wife for the rest of his life],” Afridi said during an event on Samaa TV.

A journalist from the same Pakistani news channel shared details of Malik and Javed’s love story, revealing that they had started dating several years ago. This began on a TV show where Malik had set a condition to the show’s organizers that he would only participate if Javed was invited as the guest.
“Shoaib Malik and Sana Javed started meeting consecutively on the show. Also, let me tell you, Shoaib Malik used to put conditions before appearing on the shows; he would only come if Sana Javed was invited as the guest. No actor noticed this because Sana Javed was already married to Umair Jaswal. People were curious about Ayesha Omar, but the real reason was something else,” the Pakistani TV journalist said.
In one of the episodes of the duo, sharing a stage during a game segment, Malik’s comments regarding Javed went viral. In a clip, the actor said, “Shoaib just revealed that he’s determined to win but is intentionally losing for my sake.” In a different segment, Malik was seen handling a bike independently instead of taking Javed’s assistance.
A day after Malik shared pictures along with Javed, Mirza issued a statement clarifying their relationship. In the brief message, former tennis player Mirza said they had “been divorced for a few months now.” The statement said, “Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead!” Mirza and Malik were seen for their son Izhaan’s fifth birthday in Dubai last year.
