Beware! WfH, online 'trade' are new baits of cyber crooks in Chennai
The work-from-home (WfH) model has been criminalized by cyber-crooks who use it as bait to scam people looking for part-time jobs or online trading opportunities. Victims, including software engineers and online traders, have lost millions of rupees to these scams. The scammers operate by asking victims to like and subscribe to YouTube videos for money, then gradually gain access to their bank accounts. Many victims are educated individuals, including women supporting their families. Authorities urge caution and advise against paying for jobs or wire transfers in such situations.
