Bengal reduces vax gender gap, now among top 3 nationally
Bengal has reduced the male-female gender gap in Covid vaccination to less than 20 lakh doses largely aided by the four north Bengal districts of Darjeeling, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri and Kalimpong, along with Bankura, which have inoculated more women than men. But the gender gap remains acute in urban Bengal, CoWin data shows, with Kolkata faring the worst, vaccinating six lakh less women than men.
