‘6-month jail for no tenant verification’
The Goa (Verification of Tenants) Bill, 2021, which was introduced in the Goa assembly on Monday, has proposed stricter penalties on those failing to submit details about their tenants to police. Violators stand to face up to six-month imprisonment terms, and a fine up to Rs 10,000.
