The packed Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, the venue for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch the Centre's projects for Tamil Nadu, turned into an arena for the DMK and BJP cadres to flaunt their loyalties. Chief minister M K Stalin was booed loudly by a strong force of 1,500-odd BJP members from the gallery every time he said 'ondriya arasu' (Union government) in his 15-minute speech.
