NRS docs perform rare transplant on 7-year-old boy with sister's stem cells

Doctors at NRS Medical College & Hospital (NRSMCH) have conducted Haplo identical (half match) bone marrow transplant (BMT) on a seven-year-old boy with stem cells from his 17-year-old sister. While BMT is usually done with matched donors, the procedure - half matched transplant - is much more complex and challenging. This one is perhaps the first such procedure done on a paediatric patient at a government-run hospital in Bengal.
